Advanced Portsmouth Insulation got its start in 2019, when the founder saw a real gap in the local market: too many insulation jobs in Portsmouth were being done by out-of-town crews who showed up once and moved on. Homeowners were left with work that looked fine on the surface but did not hold up through a New Hampshire winter.
Portsmouth is not an easy market to serve well. The city has some of the oldest homes in New England - from 18th-century wood-frame Colonials in the South End near Strawbery Banke to mid-century ranches out near the traffic circle. Each one presents different challenges: irregular framing, aging building envelopes, and coastal humidity that most insulation materials are not designed to handle without careful installation.
